DonorSee and ABC Malawi have successfully raised over $450,000 to build Malawi’s first STEM high school for girls and boys. The fundraiser began in October 2021 and has just been fully funded.

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. Over 69% of the population live in extreme poverty.

In Malawi, 41% of males and 34% of females attend secondary education but less than 1% of the population progress to study at a third level institution.

This STEM high school is designed to empower young men and women through education, which will drive economic activity and create generational change in Malawi. It will provide equal opportunities for girls and boys which will generate a diverse STEM workforce in Malawi.

The President of ABC Malawi, Dr. Paul Chinchen believes that this STEM high school “will without question change the direction of the entire country.”

“This new school will not only give young people an unparalleled education, it will make it possible for them to enter fields and have careers they previously could have only dreamed of. They will be engineers, they will be doctors, they will be software developers.”

Gret Glyer, CEO of DonorSee says “[t]his STEM school will release massive untapped potential in the young women and men of Malawi and will create sustainable economic freedom for the people of Malawi and greater Africa. DonorSee is incredibly proud to be a part of it.”
