In memory of Gret Glyer (RIP)

In memory of Gret Glyer (RIP)

October 24, 2022

Dear DonorSee Community

You may have already heard the tragic news of the unexpected passing of our inspirational Founder, Gret Glyer.

The DonorSee team and wider community is still trying to process the loss of such an inspirational person, a great boss, as well as a great friend to all of us. Gret was full of life, and never let anything, no matter how impossible, stop him. His passion was contagious and his love for helping others shone through always.

As we mourn Gret's tragic death, we are taking strength from his vision to end extreme poverty, and from the Community that he has built.  In his honor, the team Gret built at DonorSee is more energized than ever to work to end extreme poverty.

We want to thank all of DonorSee's partners and community for their outpouring of love and support, and for working with us to create change in the world.

Gret leaves behind his beloved wife Heather, two beautiful children, a wider family and friends from all around the world who love him. We hold them in our hearts and prayers, and ask you to remember Gret for the beacon of light he is.

RIP Gret. We miss you.

What can you do if you wish to honor Gret and his family?

In lieu of sending flowers, his family has asked that people join the DonorSee Humanity Fund, in memory of Gret.

What is the Humanity Fund?

As some of you will know, just before Gret’s passing, he wrote about the launch of the DonorSee Humanity Fund.

Through The Humanity Fund, people can sign up to give every month into a fund that is efficiently and effectively distributed through the DonorSee platform to help the poorest 10% of humanity.

We have received an overwhelming response so far. For the first time in history, a global community of people, on a single platform, are working together to end extreme poverty.

For details on funeral arrangements, please visit the The Falls Church Anglican website. There will be a live stream of the service on Friday July 1st at 9:30 am EST.

Yours faithfully
Owen O’Doherty
DonorSee Interim CEO.
